- Why does AdSense leave slots unfilled?
- AdSense bids on every request, but it does not always have an advertiser who wants that particular impression. Geography, page topic, device, floor prices and seasonality all reduce fill. Traffic from smaller markets is the most common case: the visit is real, the slot renders, and nothing is served into it.
- Does this break my AdSense account?
- No. AdSense is asked first and serves whenever it has demand. PurpleAds is only used for the requests AdSense passed on, so there is no competition between the two on the same impression.
- How much can I recover?
- It depends entirely on your current fill rate, which you can see in your AdSense reporting. Sites with a lot of traffic from markets AdSense fills poorly see the largest difference, because that is where the empty slots are concentrated.
